ELECTION DAY STYLE

Hello! Happy New Month to you!
So recently, I was fortunate enough to attend a Bloggers’ cocktail meeting organized by the Communications Authority Of Kenya. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues to do with the responsible use of online media during this electioneering period. No, this is not a post about what I wore to the event, but I thought I’d find my own way of using this platform responsibly by not letting you step out on the polling day looking shabby๐Ÿ˜Ž. Here’s a tip or two you could use.ย

First, It is not like you are going to shine for anyone to see you, so I picked pants that I think every guy has- Tan chinos. If you do not, you need to have these. They are your best bet because you can wear them with ANYTHING- in terms of color, and they are not too dressy or formal.

COMFORT is KEY. If you are voting, get ready to queue. Unless your name starts with an X or Z, or some uncommon letter, you are going to spend the better part of the day in the polling station๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…. You want to wear something that is comfortable- not a suit and tie or some uncomfortable pair of jeans. Let your clothes fit right- be COMFORTABLE. And yes, those sunglasses are just not for aesthetics, ignore the cold weather in the morning- you will need them when it gets bright and sunny during the day.

What you wear should also be FUNCTIONAL. By this, I mean something that you can wear when running errands(precisely why I suggest sneakers- you can run with them comfortably๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚) or meeting up with friends or something…I am assuming you will have other things to do other than voting…like building your country ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…LRM_EXPORT_20170806_193730

Rock something STYLISH. Heavily on the STYLE, not the -ish. I know style is probably relative, but a unique shirt can work wonders. Something like a mandarin-collared shirt, or a colorful shirt with unique fabric is quite something. Unfasten a button or two to give it that casual feel, and you are set.

All that aside, and why I wrote this post- DO NOT wear campaign garments. As it is, the situation is volatile, you really are not trying to convince anyone at the eleventh hour, are you? Step out in style and mind your own business- like the gentleman that you are!๐Ÿ˜Ž
