Hello there! I trust that you are well! If you have been reading this blog for a while, I am sure you know that I throw the word VERSATILITY around very often. Well, that is the one word that I can comfortably say summarizes this blog post.

I have had this double-sided waistcoat for quite a while now. It is one of the most versatile pieces I have so far in my wardrobe. It comes in two shades of grey- though I wish I could get one with fifty…haha, see what i did there? The dark/charcoal grey side and the light grey side make it very easy to wear with almost anything and everything. From dull colors like black and navy to bright pastels- this waistcoat will give you no headache whatsoever when it comes to styling it. LRM_EXPORT_20171022_230724LRM_EXPORT_20171023_185846

Apart from color aspect, generally, waistcoats are easy to dress up and down. By dressing up, I mean you can easily slide it into a two piece suit and instantly make it a suave three-piece look that many won’t easily pull off.  On the other hand, dressing it down doesn’t need you to make too much effort- waistcoats can easily be worn with chinos/khakis and denim seamlessly.

I am not saying that you should  go out of your way and get one that is similar to this one-which is a thrifted one by the way- just get yourself something that you can wear in very many different ways i.e. casually and formally.LRM_EXPORT_20171024_190815LRM_EXPORT_20171023_190402 It is also important to know what you already have so that you can shop for fabrics and colors that  complement what you already have. This is one way you can ensure you get the best of what you have. It all comes down to your creativity at the end of the day- know your colors, know what works best for you and rock it confidently.

Bonus tip- Use details like ties and pocket squares to add a twist to your waist coat looks.

I am sure you are wondering where the dressed-down looks are…Those will be up on my YouTube Channel in a week’s time- I suggest you check out my YouTube channel here if you haven’t yet and please be sure to like, comment and subscribe for weekly videos that I post. I hope this post makes things easier for you the next time you go shopping for that waistcoat you don’t have or when styling the one you have already! If it has, be sure to leave a comment below and tell me what you think! Thanks for stopping by!
