Ok Ok! First of all, let’s just take a moment and appreciate how creative that title is?😂😂😂 Happy new month to you! I trust that you are well?…let’s just jump into today’s post, shall we?😄
Well, dressing down a blazer is simpler than most of us think it is. It doesn’t mean you have to wear fully fledged casual pieces to dress down the whole look. It could be as simple as switching the formal pants for a pair of khakis or denim pants; and the formal button down shirt for a casual one that has either a pattern or just stripes that give it a casual vibe. Lose the tie, trade in your Oxfords for a pair of loafers and you’re good to go- that would make for a perfect casual smart outfit.
In my last post we talked about the burgundy blazer and ideas on how to dress it up. I experimented with it and dressed it down for this post. Just to put it out there, the fact that it is a bold color makes it very easy to dress down this burgundy blazer.
Seeing how versatile a color it is, I could have gone with many other colors but white seemed perfect as a contrasting color to burgundy. It gives a flair to the look and is ideal for hot days like the random ones we experience every now and then during this Kenyan winter😂-which I don’t even understand.
But that aside, Brown details and a green pocket square came in handy as beautiful details to this outfit and made it stand out. In general, Brown is considered to be more casual than black when it comes to shoes so it should be your go to color when you are going for casual smart outfits.
I know white pants can be too bold, so a great alternative would be tan chinos which will bring out that desired contrast between your pants and the jacket- which looks very exquisite and tasteful in any outfit.
WHERE TO WEAR THIS TO🤔:
Such a combo would be an ideal outfit for weddings and a date. If you would like to dress it down further, a striped t-shirt would be your best option to just add on some personality to the look and avoid being boring.- solid colors can be booorrrinngg😩.
So that’s as versatile as the burgundy jacket can get. Would you try pulling this off? Be sure to let me know what your thoughts are and if you have ideas on more ways to style this jacket, be sure to drop them in the comments section below! Thanks so much for stopping by!😃
